5 Resources for Homeschooling Children with Special Needs

Sharing is caring!

Choosing homeschooling curriculum is hard enough for any family but it is especially challenging for children with special needs. Many wonderful homeschool curriculum materials either are insufficient for our children or don’t work for them altogether. Navigating the world of special ed curriculum and services at times feels overwhelming. But the good news is that you don’t have to do it alone! There are other homeschool parents who have walked this path before you and would be happy to lend a hand.

The following organizations, companies, and blogs are run by homeschool parents of children with special needs and can help you along your journey.

  1. SPED Homeschool is a treasure trove for anyone homeschooling a child with special needs. Their site is full of resources, articles, videos, and helpful information on anything relevant to special ed in homeschooling. SPED Homeschool also hosts a weekly podcast.
  2. HSLDA (Home School Legal Defense Association) maintains an informative website not only about legal aspects of homeschooling but about anything homeschool related. They have a Special Needs area on their site.
