Last week, we discussed how to homeschool multiple children of different ages. This week, I’d like to introduce you to some homeschool resources that were made with multiple children and ages in mind. Hope you find them as helpful as my family does!

Curriculum materials

  • Story of the World history curriculum by Susan Wise Bauer is great for multiple ages. The books are easy enough for younger children but exciting enough for older children. The narration and map work can be adjusted to age and skill level. The hands on activities are fun and educational for the whole family.
  • History Odyssey and History Quest from Pandia Press lend themselves easily to multiple ages. The books can be read aloud by the parent. Children of different ages can participate in the hands on activities.
  • Real Science Odyssey, also from Pandia Press, is similar in style to the history materials and can easily be enjoyed by the whole family.
  • Sassafras Science Adventures by Johnny Congo and Paige Hudson is a fun science curriculum structured around adventure novels. The novels can be read aloud by the parent and enjoyed by children of different ages. The accompanying journals can be adjusted to the child’s age and skill level. And the hands on experiements can be enjoyed by the whole family.
  • Beautiful Feet Books has several levels of literature-based history curriculum. Each level can be used with and enjoyed by a range of ages.

Multi-child homeschool planners

These lists are by no means exhaustive. There are so many amazing homeschool materials out there! As much as I’m trying to keep up, I’m sure there some I haven’t yet heard of. Look for and choose the ones that work best for your family. Enjoy!
